right of the photo above you can see geysers venting from our
deck! You mustn't leave Rotorua without experiencing some of the
wonder and taking a dip in a pool that is heated by the earths core.Waikite Hot Pools: A short drive south to the pools the locals enjoy soaking in. Set in bush with views over farmland, an eco trail to the source of the hot springs and a good cafe on site. Te Puia: geysers and mud pools. Waimangu Valley: Hot springs, steaming lakes, craters. Wai-o-Tapu: Volcanic craters, silica pools, boiling mud, steam vents. Maori Culture. Rotorua is the best place to explore Maori culture, and you will find that it is presented to you in a fun and engaging way. Whakarewarewa Village: A living village where Maori live today, much as they did in earlier times. ![]() History: Rotorua Museum: (not really a museum). An old Bathhouse built after the Tarawera erruption delves into the volcanic effects and houses some of N.Z's treasures. Ohinemutu: Two of the best examples of carved buildings you will see. Buried village: See the effects of the Tarawera erruption on this tiny village which was completey buried. Learn the story of the man who survived. Nature: Rainbow Springs and Kiwi Encounter. Native reserve with plants, animals, trout and our famous Kiwi. Kiwi Encounter is part of a program to protect our threatened icon. Learn about how we are saving this amazing bird fromo predators and meet the real thing. Okareka Walkway: A lake walk for the bird watchers.
